Making Reasonable Adjustments

Disabled children and young people have the same rights to the best care as everyone else when they need health care.

Extra care and support are needed to make this happen, which is the job of all staff in the healthcare team.

Healthcare staff need to think about what reasonable adjustments may help to make the experience of children and young people and their families better. Please let your healthcare professional know about any reasonable adjustments you or the child and young person you support has so they can best support you and your family.

NHS England have developed this short film about the use of reasonable adjustments to reduce health inequalities in people with a learning disability and or autism.
